Crofting on Bernera
We are a 16 acre Croft on the island of Great Bernera. Working to provide a sustainable environment for future generations.
Trees, trees, trees!!
With over 2,000 native broadleaf trees now planted we are looking forward to woodland areas developing on the Croft and watching wildlife flourish.
Food
We are just beginning our journey for growing more than just some potatoes. We are working on our polytunnel setup and planning for fruit trees for next year.
Invasive species
Our wee island suffers from some difficult invasive species! Primarily Gunnera (giant rhubarb) and to a much lessor degree with rhododendron. Our goal is removing Gunnera completely from on and around our Croft, and hopefully from all of Bernera.
EV Charging
We have been awarded a grant for installing public EV Charging points! We will have two 40Kw charging points available soon!
